For the last few years on the southside of Atlanta, ethnic dining has usually centered around two possibilities: Chinese and Italian. As the population has swelled with new immigrants, Fayette County diners can now choose Jamaican, Caribbean, Mexican and German for a night of soaking up another culture.

Sometimes it's good to go back and check on some of our favorites, though, and see how they measure up to the new restaurants that now call the county home.

It's with great pleasure that I can report Golden Chopstix in Fayetteville is still serving some of the best Chinese food in the county. The restaurant, located in Hudson Plaza, is one of the older restaurants in the county, and features quality food with jiffy service and is this month's "Citizen's Choice" award for best restaurant.

The restaurant features the best won ton soup I've had on this side of town. The soup features hearty won tons in a hot broth with green onions and spices. Many Chinese restaurants don't spend enough time preparing their soups and other won ton soups I've sample have had a slight fishy taste, but Golden Chopstix's soup is perfect.

Some of the other notable items on the menu include wonderful fried rice available in pork, shrimp, chicken and tasty cashew chicken. For the more adventurous eaters, the restaurant offers several dishes served in a spicy Kung Pao sauce.

One of the best things about the eatery is the service. I've never eaten there without being greeted by a smiling face at the door and steaming hot food served promptly by friendly staff.

The restaurant offers a daily lunch special, along with several other items on the lunch menu, that offer the businessman a quick and tasty alternative to the fast food game.

For good food at a reasonable price, Golden Chopstix is one of the best bets in the county.
