A. Donal Cook

A. Donal Cook, 71, Fairburn, died Oct. 26, 1998. He was born June 15, 1927 in Fairburn.

He had served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, and was employed with Delta Air Lines from 1956 to 1991.

Graveside services were held at Holly Hill Memorial Cemetery, Fairburn, with the Rev. Will Thomas officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Phillips Cook, whom he married in 1949; a son, Joe and Lynn Cook; daughters, Penny and Travis Harris and Jill and Jimmy Mulhall; brothers, Billy Cook, Riverdale and Hall Cook, Peachtree City; and sisters, Doris Smith and Joyce Phillips, both of Fairburn.

There are seven grandchildren; Melissa Gann, Brandy Aldredge, Chris Harris, Huey Harris, Kristy Cook, Logan Cook and Jackson Mulhall.

Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Chapman

Hazel J. Chapman, 69, died Nov. 2, 1998. She was born July 28, 1929 in Fayette County, the daughter of the late Willie Clarence and Daisy Kate (Jones) Jones.

Services were held at the Grace Baptist Church, Sharpsburg, with Pastor Brian Anderson officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Newnan.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Chapman, Sharpsburg; sons, Steve and Sharon Chapman, Stafford, Va., Tony Chapman, N. Beach, Md., Mike and Kari Chapman, Senoia; a brother, Emory Jones, Sharpsburg; sisters, Inez Pye, Fayetteville, Pauline Minix and Margie Braswell, both of Palmetto.

There are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Raymond Berry

Raymond W. Berry, 75, Senoia, died Oct. 27, 1998. He was born June 30, 1923 in Fulton County, Ga.

Services were held at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Brannon and the Rev. Dennis Fowler officiating. Interment was at Carver Memorial Cemetery, Riverdale, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Lila Berry, Senoia; a son, Ralph Hardy, and a daughter, Fay Hardy, both of Senoia; a sister, Kathleen Anglin, McDonough; a nephew, Ray Craft, Senoia; nieces, Delores Holt and Imogene Berry, both of McDonough; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Craig, Newnan; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.

Martha Breyer

Martha Peirce Breyer, 83, Moreland, died Nov. 1, 1998. She was born June 20, 1915 in Birmingham, Ala., the daughter of Robert Grant and Mary Foshee Peirce. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. H. Breyer.

She was a graduate of Washington Seminary, a member of the O.B.X. Sorority, had been a model for Rich's Dept. Store and a member of various Garden Clubs. She had been a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and Newnan Presbyterian Church.

Graveside services were held at Arlington Memorial Park, Atlanta, with Dr. Allison Williams and Pastor Harry H. Barrow, officiating.

Survivors include her son, William Rich and Lucy Irvine Breyer, Roswell; a daughter, Mary Breyer and Uffe Vagn Aagesen, Moreland; grandsons, Stephen Vagn and Jennifer Zelner Aagesen, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Richard Breyer and Amber Joi Aagesen, Newnan; granddaughters, Julie Aagesen and Ian Hugh Campbell, Laura Breyer and Lt. Thomas Henry Chalkley, Port Hueneme, Cal., and Allison Lynn Breyer, Roswell; great-granddaughters, Mary Foshee Conklin, Sarah Louise Conklin and Emily Campbell, all of Newnan, Catherine Ann Campbell, Albuquerque, N.M. and Hanne Joi Aagesen, Newnan;

Carolyn Majors

Carolyn Majors, 59, Newnan, died Nov. 5, 1998. She was born Feb. 15, 1939 in Gainesville, Ga., the daughter of the late Raymond Howard and Ada Velva Fowler Gaddis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Gaddis.

She was retired from Eckerd Corp.

Services were held at the First Baptist Church, Newnan, with Dr. Gene Tyre and the Rev. Don Helms officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas W. Majors, Jr., Newnan; daughters Karen and Kim Craft, Gainesville, Ga., and Teresa and Joe Strapp, Acworth, Ga., sisters, Reba Brewer, Athens, Ga., and Nell Short, Brunswick, Ga.; grandchildren, Corey Craft, Kirby Craft, Paul Strapp and Shannon Strapp; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Gaddis, Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Arthur L. Allen

Arthur L. "Bub" Allen, 85, Newnan, died Nov. 5, 1998. He was born Sept. 11, 1913 in Coweta County, Ga., the son of Lovic Pierce and Ludie Pearl Gordon Allen. He was a retired supervisor inspector for Lockheed and had served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He was a past master of Sylvan Lodge F&AM #429 in 1943 and had received his 50 year pin. He had been in Masonry for 60 years, and was also a Royal Arch Mason.

Masonic graveside services were held at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Dean officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Allen, Newnan; sons, Mr. and Mrs. Randy David Allen and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Allen, all of Newnan; and grandchildren, Benjamin Allen, Karen, Allen, Keith Allen and Andy Kee.

James McCoomb, Jr.

James F. "Jim" McCoomb, Jr., 69, Newnan, died Nov. 5, 1998. He was born Sept. 4, 1929 in Fall River, Maine, the son of the late James F. and Clara Berry McCoomb.

He was a retired technician for the National Cash Register Corp. and had served in the United States Air Force.

Services were held at the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Gene Tyre and the Rev. Jerry Walker officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Gerry S. McCoomb, Newnan; sons, Lester Strech and Ross Strech, both of Houston, Texas and James H. and Shannon McCoomb, Larwill, Ind.; daughters, Deena and Joe Almon, Jr., Newnan, and Nancy and Doug Dillingham, Warrenton, Va.; brothers, Bill and Marge McCoomb, North Hampton, N.H. and Tom and Betty McCoomb, Portsmouth, N.H.; sister-in-law, Patsy Driver, Newnan, Ga. and daughters-in-law, Cyndi Strech and Pam Strech, both of Houston, Texas. There are 20 grandchildren.

Ray Storey

Ray Storey, 82, Newnan, died Nov. 6, 1998. He was born April 26, 1916 in Coweta County, Ga., the son of Caud Starr and Ida Wood Storey. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Houston. He was retired as a warehouse supervisor for Richardson Co., and had served in the United States Army, World War II.

Services were held at the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Parrish officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. Storey, Newnan; a daughter, Beverly and Phil Garner, Newnan; grandsons, David and Tammy Garner, Scott and Jennifer Garner and Brian and Jean Houston; great-grandchildren, Abigail Garner, Hillary Garner and Scott Owen Garner, Jr.; and a sister, Lorine Bolton, Stone Mountain, Ga.

Mary Ann Hayes

Mary Ann Faulkner Hayes, 55, Newnan, died Nov. 7, 1998. She was born Feb. 6, 1943 in Newnan, Ga. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Smith Haynes. She had worked in human resources for Crawford Long Hospital.

Services were held at the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Melvin Payne officiating.

Survivors include her husband, David Hayes, Newnan; a son, Kevin and Laura Faulkner, Newnan; daughters, Kimberly Faulkner, Carrollton, Ga. and Renee Faulkner and Ibrahim Lari, Abudhabi, U.A.E.; her father, Sidney Haynes and a brother, James Haynes, Breman. There are eight grandchildren.
