Eddie Ball, director of the Coweta County Emergency Management Agency, has successfully completed the Public Assistance Post Storm Documentation course conducted by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth. The program provides federal and state funding to help local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations rebuild following disasters. Proper documentation is the most essential element of this program allowing communities to respond to disasters, to recover from their damages and to mitigate the impact of future disasters. Course attendees received specialized instruction on basic eligibility requirements, preparation of a Notice of interest, preliminary damage assessment and debris management from GEMA officials. Ball was among approximately 40 emergency management agency directors, sheriffs, police chiefs, city and county officials and electric membership corporation officials from throughout the state who attended the five-hour course.
