Hungry residents who also want to do a good deed should head to Agnes & Muriel's restaurant in Peachtree City today. The eatery, along with 150 others in metro Atlanta, is donating 20 percent of its proceeds today to Project Open Hand. The charitable organization provides meals to children, women and families who have contracted the HIV virus. According to Agnes & Muriel's co-owner Glenn Powell, his restaurant in Midtown last year donated $1,000 to the project. He added that his restaurant in Peachtree City is the only restaurant in Fayette County participating in the project. Agnes & Muriel's features food like your mama used to make in a kitschy and fun atmosphere and is located in the Westpark Walk Shopping Center. "We'll be open for lunch and dinner today, so hopefully everyone will come out and contribute to the cause," Powell said. For more information, call the restaurant at 770-632-1830. |
