1998 Decorator Showplace opens to benefit charity
Visitors will line the curbs of the 1998 Decorator
Showplace Nov. 14-22 for a tour with proceeds benefiting the Boys &
Girls Club of Newnan. Newnan Junior Service League members will
be guiding the tours to raise funds for the new club's facility that is
set to open next spring.
In this spectacular "Southern Living" plan, the
"Blythewood" by Stephen Fuller,
wrap-around porches welcome visitors to sit back and savor this home's
fine architectural details. Sparkling windows offer a glimpse of
the beautifully appointed home that overflows with interior detail
and furnishings selected by Panoply Interior Designs. Once inside,
the marvelous interior features would leave even Andy Hardy
speechless.
Breakfast room walls are floor-to-ceiling windows. A
clever kitchen design works well with adjacent areas from the
sunny breakfast room to the formal dining room and the great room
separated by the inviting angled bar. Overhead, a second-floor
balcony encircles the two-story great room and fieldstone fireplace. A
convenient main floor master bedroom is a comfortable distance from
the three upstairs bedrooms and second floor media room. The
study, with coffered ceilings and its own fireplace, can be accessed
from the foyer or the great room. A back porch and deck below
gives another view of this 2.5 acre homesite in one of Coweta's
premier developments, Arbor Springs Plantation.
One to five acre estate-size lots are set among the lakes,
ponds and 27-hole championship golf course that distinguish this
development. The resident's clubhouse overlooks a custom,
lake-side pool, with lighted tennis courts just a few steps away.
Sidewalks line the main streets and nature trails invite residents to
explore the rolling terrain that hosts this neighborhood. Newnan
Utilities recently added a fiber-optic cable system to the underground
services at Arbor Springs to provide residents with state-of-the-art
Internet services at 100 times the speed of dial-up connections.
Smart Home Technology, interactive neighborhood
Internet connections, and climate-conscious landscaping all
complement the fine design and construction of this home a
project of McKinney Builders, Inc. Mac McKinney has built custom
homes for over 28 years and is actively involved with the National
Association of Homebuilders.
"Beyond the credentials that make Mac McKinney one of
our approved Arbor Springs builders," developmental partner
Kristy Franklin said, "is the fact that he has been selected as a member
of the prestigious "Southern Living" Custom Home Builder
Network. Through this program, members have exclusive rights to a
special collection of "Southern Living" house plans."
"The builder network is a natural extension of our overall
homes program, which aims at offering quality designs and new ideas
to consumers across the Southeast," said "Southern Living"
Homes Group Director Bill McDougald. "We believe we have chosen
some of the most outstanding builders in the region to help us do this."
With such a grand home as a canvas, the spectacular
interior detail and furnishings will be a tribute to this talented team
of designers. "We're approached this as project with the charm of
an English cottage and the sophisticated flair of a
country-French influence," said Christie Estes,
a designer with the firm owned by Martha Ann Faith. "We've
incorporated unique finishes and other design elements that may
inspire visitors to try a new look in their own homes, or homes they
may be about to build. People are always asking to see our
work," adds Estes, " and Showplace 98 gives us a chance to invite
everyone in to see what's available in construction and interior
design these days."
Kristy Franklin sees Showplace 98 as a benefit for all of
Coweta County. "In addition to raising funds for the Boys & Girls
Club, we are showing our gracious way of life here the quality of
homes, our vibrant communities, and the upscale services offered in
this county," explains Franklin. "As the Showplace 98 run comes to
a close, we will auction many of the furnishings as further benefit
of the Boys & Girls Club."
