This weekend's first taste of the winter chill should put shoppers and residents in the holiday mood for the 14th annual Christmas Open House in old town Sharpsburg.

The festivities start today with the historic town's unique shops throwing their doors open to greet the impending holiday season.

Visitors to one of Coweta's most charming towns will find unusual decorating ideas and gifts to add the perfect touch to their holiday celebrations. As you stroll through the town, the merchants will be offering refreshments to add to the holiday revelry.

The big event of the weekend is Saturday, when Santa arrives at noon. Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras to snap that perfect picture of the jolly old elf as he makes his first appearance of the holiday season.

On Sunday, visitors will be treated to the sounds of holiday carolers while perusing the town. Hours of the celebration are 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., today and tomorrow and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
