Hazel Ethel Palmer

Hazel Ethel Palmer, 79, Fayetteville, died Oct. 27, 1998. She was born May 4, 1919 in Fayette County, the daughter of Lum and Etta McElwaney Parrott.

Graveside services were held at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty and Doug Banks, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jeremy Banks and Wendy Banks, both of Fayetteville; and a brother, Venson and Ruby Parrott, Fayetteville.

Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret Rebecca Mann Lester

Margaret Rebecca Mann Lester, 82, Fayetteville, died Oct. 29, 1998. She was born Aug. 28, 1916 in Senoia, Coweta County, Ga., the daughter of O. S. and Rebecca Clark Mann. She had taught school for over 30 years.

Services were held at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stringham, the Rev. Jack Overton and the Rev. Frank Ellis officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Survivors include her husband, John Addison Lester, Jr.; son, John Addison and Janet Lester III, a daughter, Laurien and Ennis Lester, all of Fayetteville; and grandchildren, Ellen Rebecca Laney, Ennis Glenn Laney IV, John Addison Lester IV and Adam Gregory Lester.

Barbara McCollum Jackson

Barbara McCollum Jackson, 60, Fayetteville, died Oct. 27, 1998. She was born April 8, 1938 in DeKalb County, Ga.

Graveside services were held at the Senoia, Ga. City Cemetery with the Rev. J. D. Smith officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Denny S. Jackson, Fayetteville; sons, Forrest Wade and Nicole Jackson, Warner Robins and Christopher S. Jackson, Griffin; granddaughters, Rachael Marie Jackson and Rebekah Nicole Jackson, both of Warner Robins; her mother, Mary P. Anderson, Peachtree City; and brothers, Michael D. Anderson, Montgomery, Ala. and Randolph (Randy) Anderson, Athens, Ala.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Fibromyalgia Research Assoc., 4093 Commercial St., Salem, OR. 97302.

Brittany Ashland Stokes

Infant Brittany Ashland Stokes, Senoia, died Oct. 23, 1998.

Graveside services were held at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Frank Ellis officiating.

Survivors include parents, Heather Stokes and Todd Bates, Senoia; brothers, Chandler, Richard and Grayson, all of Senoia; grandparents, Brenda Stokes, Fayetteville and Guy and Linda Stokes, Antioch, Calif.; great-grandparents, Cookie Preuss, Doraville, Ga. and Viva Huddleston, Fayetteville; and an uncle, Guy Stokes III, Fayetteville.

Duane Albert Cecil Powell

Duane Albert Cecil Powell, 18, Fayetteville, died Oct. 23, 1998. He was born Jan. 24, 1980 in Queens, N.Y. He was a graduate of Sandy Creek High School.

Services were held at the Marshall Newsome Mortuary, Riverdale, with Minister Walter Clendon-Bey officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Survivors include his parents, Terrence and Norma I. Powell; brothers, Delmar Powell and Javanne Powell, both of Fayetteville; a sister, Jessica Powell, Fayetteville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Powell, Jamaica, West Indies and Muriel Williams and Essie Smith, both of New York, and a great-grandmother, Helen Powell.

Memorial donations may be made to the Richard A. Francis, Jr. Memorial Fund at Peachtree National Bank, Tyrone, to defray expenses for the Francis family.

Richard Alan Francis II

Richard Alan Francis II, 18, Jonesboro, died Oct. 23, 1998. He was born Aug. 24, 1980 in the Bronx, N.Y. He was a graduate of Sandy Creek High School.

Services were held at the Redemption Fellowship Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Louis Wilson and the Rev. Earl Caruthers, officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery, College Park.

Survivors include his father, Richard A. Francis, Sr., mother, Vanessa Simpson; stepmother, Teressa Francis; a sister, Rachine Francis; and a grandmother, Mary Simpson.

Jay Kimsey

Jay Kimsey "Kim" Neal, 45, Waynesville, N.C., formerly of Fayetteville, died Oct. 25, 1998. He was born Oct. 11, 1953, the son of Joan Burkes Neal and the late Ray Verlin Neal. He was a graduate of Fayette County High School and the University of Georgia. He had worked as a Pharmacist.

Services were held at the Wells Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesville, N.C. with Rev. Jack Overton and the Rev. Kathleen M. Wilson officiating. Interment was at GarrettHillcrest Memorial Gardens, Waynesville.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Trueblood Neal, Waynesville; sons, Richard Neal and Jimmy Neal, both of Fayetteville; a daughter, Julie Neal, Fayetteville; mother, Joan Burkes Neal, Fayetteville; a brother, Roger Neal, Senoia, Ga.; sisters, Jo Sandra Greffeth, Ashburn, Ga. and Kathy Sprowles, Hiawassee, Ga.; a stepson, Jason Anderson, Okeechobee, Fla. and stepdaughters, Carolyn Anderson, West Palm Beach, Fla. and Stefanie Anderson, Okeechobee, Fla.
