Bob Weigand of Executive Benefit Solutions, Inc., recently attended the Financial Service Corporation's National Education & Business Conference in Atlanta.

Touted as one of the largest educational meetings in the independent broker-dealer industry, the conference was a forum for intense learning, professional development and colleague networking. It was attended by more than 1,000 financial professionals and representatives from the mutual fund, insurance and direct investment arena.

Weigand has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. As a registered principal of FSC Securities Corporation, he is responsible for assisting executives, business owners and professionals in accumulating and managing their assets.

The FSC National Education & Business Conference featured over 50 educational sessions, as well as variety of keynote speeches from well-known industry speakers.

Executive Benefit Solutions, Inc. is located in Fayetteville.

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John Oxendine announced last week that the Building Officials Association of Georgia has contributed $1,000 to assist in the continuation of Operation Safe Home, a program that provides smoke detectors to needy families.

BOAG president Donald McCarty and board member Thomas Carty, a building official in Peachtree City, presented the check to the commissioner in a ceremony at the Commissioner's office.

The Farm Service Agency County Committee elections are approaching. Register to vote with your local Farm Service Agency to insure you receive a ballot.

Ballots will be mailed Nov. 20 and must be returned to the office by Dec. 1.

County committees make important decisions that affect local agriculture. They also ate the producers' most direct link with the USDA.

FSA is especially interested in registering producers who have never stopped by a county office, as well as farmers and ranchers whether the producers is an organic grower, a dairy farmer or a specialty crop producer.
