The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers will present its draft environmental impact statement for the Appalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint river basin in public hearings in Columbus, Ga. Nov. 19 and in Kennesaw Nov. 18.

Part of the impact of the documents will be limits on the amount of water that Fayette County can draw from the Chattahoochee and the Flint or its tributaries.

The Atlanta Regional Commission has objected to some of the language in the proposal, saying its plans call for Fayette to get more water from the Chattahoochee through purchases from the city of Atlanta.

The Kennesaw hearing will be at the Kennesaw State University gymnasium, 1000 Chastain Road. The Columbus gathering will be at the city Convention and Trade Center North Hall, 801 Front Ave. Both meetings will be 5 - 8 p.m.
