Peachtree City teen competing to represent metro area

Randi Renee Lancaster of Peachtree City was recently selected to participate in the 1998 Miss Jr. Teen Atlanta pageant competition, set for Nov. 22. Randi submitted an application and took part in an interview session conducted by Maggie Forde, this year's Atlanta Pageant coordinator, and will be competing for her share of more than $20,000 in scholarships, prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants.

The Miss Jr. Teen division is one of five divisions that will have young ladies, ages 7-23, competing in modeling routines which include casual wear and formal wear. Personality is the number one aspect each contestant is judged on during all phases of the competition, plus Randi will display her personality and interview skills while interviewing with this year's Atlanta judging panel.

If Randi were to win the title of Miss Jr. Teen Atlanta, she would represent Atlanta and the surrounding communities within a 200-mile radius of Atlanta at the National Competition in Orlando. More than $60,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at Nationals while each winner enjoys the expense-paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando.

Community businesses, organizations and private individuals will assist Randi in participating in this year's competition by becoming an official sponsor for her. Those interested in becoming a sponsor for Randi are asked to call Maggie Forde at 1-800-569-2487.

Randi is the daughter of Robbin Blake Lancaster and Ronald W. Lancaster. Her hobbies include music, dancing and jogging.
