Subject: NEA 3, Kids l.

Oct. 13 at Brooks Elementary I asked Greg Powers, Mickey Littlefield and Carolyn K. Fludd the following question:

"If you were an elected, education bureaucrat and had the power to send a child to an inferior Fayette County school for $6,500 or send that same child to an academically superior private or parochial school for $4,500, which school would you send that child to?"

Greg Powers, Mickey Littlefield and Carolyn K Fludd all said they'd send the child to the more expensive, academically inferior, public school.

A few days later I asked Roger Marietta the same question. After some hemming and hawing, Mr. Marietta stated he'd send the child to the less expensive, academically superior, private school.

In one Fayette County School Board race, there is a real difference. Mr. Marietta seems to be more concerned with our children's best interests Mr. Powers, Mr. Littlefield and Ms. Fludd are more concerned with the NEA's best interests.

On Nov. 3, vote for Roger Marietta for Board of Education, Post 4. Also, vote for Mickey Littlefield for Board of Education Post 5. Reason: Mr. Littlefield makes noises that he's a cost-conscious Republican. Ms Fludd is a tax-and-spend, liberal Democrat who will support another sneaky SPLOST.
