· The 14th annual Strong Legs Run takes place Nov. 15. This annual event starts at the Atlanta Civic Center and includes a 5K walk beginning at 8:15 a.m., 2K at 8:30 a.m. and 8K at 9:15 a.m. Entry fee is $15 through pre-registration. · The Asthma and and Allergy Foundation of America will sponsor a toll-free hotline manned by allergists, Nov. 17 from 6-10 p.m. to help callers with allergy-related questions. In addition to speaking with an allergist, callers will receive free follow-up educational information by mail to help with the second allergy season. 1-877-ALERGY-0.

· The search is on for the Safest Kid in Georgia for 1999. The essay contest is a statewide approach sponsored by the Safe America Foundation. The contest challenges youths, age 8-12, to tell how they protect themselves and promote safety. Teens, ages 13-15, are encouraged to identify a safety problem in their neighborhoods or community, and the action they can take to correct it. Essays should be around 300 words. Winners will receive a $250 U.S. Savings Bond, a helicopter ride over Atlanta, tickets to a Braves game, a VIP tour of CNN, and a plaque from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
