The Holiday Inn Express-Fayetteville has won the Bass Hotels & Resorts 1998 Quality Excellence Award, given only to hotels achieving distinction in all aspects of their operations. The hotel is one of the 124 properties selected from the company's more than 2,600 hotels in recognition of overall quality excellence. In order to receive the award, the hotel had to receive a high score in the Guest Satisfaction Tracking System, a system designed for guest to evaluate Holiday Inn hotels and their performance, including product quality and customer service. The hotel was honored during a special ceremony held at the annual Bass Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Conference in New Orleans. Glenn Winslette of the Holiday Inn-Express accepted the award. "The Quality Excellence Award demands a strong commitment to excellence that sets the standard for all Bass Hotels & Resorts properties around the world," said Thomas Oliver, chairman and CEO of Bass Hotels & Resorts. "This honor is awarded to hotels by the people who know us best, our customers. It is my privilege to honor the Holiday Inn Express-Fayetteville with this award. Reliant Building Products Inc., the largest manufacturer of vinyl and aluminum windows in the U.S., announced the appointment of Fred Grunewald as president and chief executive officer. Previously, Grunewald was president and chief operating officer of Dallas-based Reliant is the parent company of Alenco, which has a manufacturing plant in Peachtree City. Reliant Building Products is controlled by Keystone Inc. and its affiliates. In may, 1997, Keystone led an investor group, including Reliant management, in an acquisition of the company. "Fred Grunewald's demonstrated expertise in managing large companies, improving operations, and expanding product offerings and distribution, make him the perfect choice to guide Reliant Building Products to the next level of corporate growth," said Steve Gruber, vice president of Keystone. Cycle Specialty Company in Fayetteville was recently honored for outstanding sales as a Polaris ATV dealer. The company received the Century 100 Club for its outstanding sales achievements. Polaris designs, engineers, manufactures and markets snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, personal watercraft, Victory motorcycles and the Polaris RANGER for recreational and utility use. Rhonda Shaw has been named a mortgage lender for Henry-County based American Century Banking Corp., according to president and CEO G. Guy Quinn. Formerly with First Community Bank of Henry County, Shaw's mortgage experience is well-known in the metro-south region. "We're fortunate to have Rhonda on our team," said Quinn. "American Century Banking Corp. has managed, in a very short time, to attract the top professionals in the banking industry. That fact is reflected by our client rosters." Shaw has over 14 years of mortgage lending experience, beginning in the late 80s and then went on to earn underwriting accreditation for both FHA and VA loans. Having worked throughout Clayton and Henry counties, she brings a number of loyal clients with her. Shaw and her family have been Henry County residents for more than 10 years.
