There are those who watch history; there are those who write about history; there are those who read about history; and there are those who make history. Those who make history are those who are the action people that when the baton is passed to them, they grasp it and carry it in the race to victory. These times only come your way a few times in life and when that happens you either sit and watch or do something about it and actually "make history." Not much history is ever written about the "watchers" but much about the "doers." I have learned in life that when God gives you a task to do and you do not do it, then He just gives it to someone else. His work will get done with or without you or me, but He certainly uses those who are ready to do His bidding. In the Scriptures, we read about the prophets who were called by God to do certain tasks. Almost all tried to talk God out of His call to them. They lined up excuse after excuse but God had answers for all their "reasons" for it not being a good idea. These men did however answer the call at whatever the cost and many of them went to their death in the process. Thus we are reading about them today. Today when God gives you a task to do, then this is your moment in history to do it. I was reading that a seemingly insignificant revival was held and when the report was being given after the revival as to its success, the evangelist said "well we only had one young man saved tonight by the name of Bill Graham." You of course know the rest of that story, and spiritual history is still being written about this one man. Just think of what might have happened if the evangelist had not stepped up to the pulpit the night Billy Graham was saved! You have a chance to be a part of "spiritual history" in the making at 6 p.m. on November 1, 1998 at the Atlanta Christian Center in their new worship center at 3355 Old Jonesboro Road, Fairburn. If you attend the unity service, you will be worshiping with over 20 pastors and their congregations all from here in the South Metro area. The pastor delivering the sermon will be Reverend Eddie Thomas of the historic Edgefield Baptist Church in Fayetteville. The pastors supporting this unity service meet every Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in Fayetteville. We have fellowship together, share spiritual events that are happening within our various congregations, have prayer together and just love one another. It doesn't get much better than that. Each week we take a little bit of heaven home with us when we depart. We need to go from watching history to making history! Come join us for this historic spiritual event November 1. If you need additional information, you can call Pastor Rick Snow at the Atlanta Christian Center 770-964-2138. Be there, history awaits you!
