The beginning of a new program year for Girl Scouts brings along with it needs for Girl Scout supplies and uniforms for girls and troop leaders. In an effort to help meet these needs, The Uniform Connection Traveling Shoppe will be visiting the Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Oct. 23 and 24. On Oct. 23, the shop will be set up from 1-6 p.m. On Oct 24, the shop hours will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The shop can meet all back-to-troop needs, and will be stocked with uniforms, insignia, books, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and a variety of gift items. If there are particular needs, these can be met by phoning Cindy Chigges, shop manager, at 770-227-2524, ext. 201. She will pull special orders and have them ready for pick up at the Traveling Shoppe. Pine Valley Girl Scout Council services 14 counties, including Fayette. Fayette County has over 26 percent of the total membership of the council, and in 1997-98 had a total of 120 Girl Scout troops. Registration so far for the 1998-99 program year includes a significant number of new troops forming.
