Softball

Tryouts for the Georgia Vipers 12 and under traveling fast pitch softball team will be held Oct. 18 at 1 pm at McCurry Park. For more info call Kathy at 537-4866.

Soccer

The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is accepting registrations for the Winter Indoor Youth Soccer season. Registration will be held Saturday, Oct 24 from 10am until 2pm. There will be two indoor soccer referee clinics held at the Soccer Centre in Fayetteville on Sunday, Nov 15 from 11am -1pm and Tuesday, December 1 from 6:30 pm -8:30 pm. Basketball

Registration for the 1998-99 season of Fayette County Youth Basket ball will be held at the Kiwanis Field complex on Redwine Road during the following dates: Oct. 12-16 and 19-23 from 8am to 5pm and Oct. 17 and 24 from 10 am to 5pm. Cycling

Bob's Cycle Shop of Rome,Ga and the North Georgia Bicycle Dealer Association are sponsoring the Southeeastern Championship Cross Country Bicycle Race in Newnan on Oct. 25. For more

Miscellaneous

The annual meeting for the PTC Paddlers will be held on Nov. 8. If you are intersted in attending or becoming a member, contact Lee Hudgens at 770-486-0328.

There are still great seats available for the Napa 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race events will run from Nov. 6-8. The Atlanta Motor Speedway Ticket Office is open 8:30 am to 5pm Monday -Friday, 9am to 5 pm Saturdays and 1pm to 5pm on Sundays. For tickets and event information you can call 770-946-4211.

The Roberto Clemente All Stars are sponsoring a free basbeall clinic for players age 11-19. The clinic will be held from 9 am to 12 pm Sunday, Nov. 1 at Lost Mountain Park in Powder Springs. Anyone interested in attending the fee clinic/ tryout should call 1-800-723-6398.

The 17th annual LaFayette Marching Classic will be held at Fayette County High School on Saturday, Oct 24. Gates will be open at 9am and the event will run until approximately 10 pm. For additional information call 770-719-2112.

Tennis

The Fayette County Recreation Department wil offer Tennis lessonsthis fall to anyone over the age of 15. The class dates are Sept. 14, 15, 21 and 22 from 7-8 p,m and Oct. 5,12,19, and 26 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for beginners and Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26 from10:30-11:30 a.m. and Oct. 12, 13, 19, and 20 from 7-8 p.m. for intermediate players. The cost of the classes is $25 and a new can of balls. To participate, you must register at least two days prior to the lessons. For more information, contact the recreation department at 461-9714.

Swimming

Southside Seals Masters swim team meets Monday through Friday, 7-8:30 p.m. at Kedron Aquatic Center in Peachtree City. Dues are $90 per year and include USMS registration and pool time. Ken Sharpe (770-631-3543) or Steve Justice (770-964-5323).

Basketball

The Peachtree City Youth Basketball Association will hold registration for the winter season at the Kedron Field House Oct. 10 and 11 from 1-4p.m. It is open for both boys and girls in grades 1-12. The cost for children in Grades 1-2 is $80 and for children in Grades 3-12, the cost is $90.
