The 17th annual Lafayette Marching Classic will be held at Fayette County High School this Saturday. The Classic, one of the most respected high school band competitions in the southeast, will begin at 9:45 am and last until 10:00pm.

Bands will be competing for over $3,00 in trophies for Best Band, Drum Major, Drum Line Majorettes, Drill Team and Color Guard. The Fayette County High School band, under the direction of Kenny Beard, has hosted the event since 1982. The Fayette Middle School Band will perform the National Anthem at 6:55pm before the evening performances are scheduled to begin.

Bands from Loganville, Norcross, Chamblee, Walton, Heritage and dozens more schools from around the South will be competing. Come and check out the fun and magic of high school marching bands. The gates will open at 9 am. For more information call 770-719-2112.
