Citizens for Honest Government, a national activist group, promises to tell you more in two hours than you've learned from six years of television coverage of possible impeachable offenses by President Bill Clinton. "What the Media Won't Tell You" is scheduled for Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon at the Fayette County Library. Garland Favrito, state coordinator for the organization, will give a computerized presentation that he promises will focus purely on the facts and the evidence. "We don't try to make a conclusion," said Favrito, who conducts similar presentations all over the state. "We just present the evidence based on Congressional investigations." Favrito isn't talking just about the Monica Lewinsky scandal. He said the presentation will include information on the death of Vince Foster, Chinese campaign contributions and other activities that have been investigated by Congress. Citizens for Honest Government started in 1994 when a film producer began investigating alleged corruption in the Arkansas government, said Favrito. He said the group has about 70,000 members nationwide and is dedicated to preserving honest government. Victoria Wanzer, a Peachtree City resident and member of the organization, heard Favrito's presentation in another town and decided to bring him to Fayette County for a presentation, she said. "I was very impressed with what he was presenting," she added. Wanzer said she hopes people who don't have a point of view in the Clinton investigations will attend the Saturday presentation. "He was preaching to the choir" in prior presentations, Wanzer said of Favrito. Favrito said the presentation shows why Clinton should not be impeached over the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Evidence of corruption in other investigations is much more compelling, he said. "All of this sex hype in the media has nothing to do with the reason why the impeachment movement started," said Favrito. "It was somewhat of a diversionary tactic."
