Jailbirds raise 'bond' money for MDA More than 50 of Peachtree City's "most wanted" citizens will be "locked up" to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Thursday, Oct. 22, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sponsored by ERA Oak Manor Realty, the "jailbirds" will be picked up from various businesses throughout the day and taken to "jail" at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, host of the event. Jailbirds can look forward to having their mug shot taken, dining on bread and water, and raising as much bail as they can for MDA. Funds raised through the lock-up contribute to the broad range of programs and services for Fayette County citizens affected by neuromuscular disease. These services include clinic visits, support groups, assistance in the purchase of leg braces and wheelchairs, and MDA's special summer camp for children and young adults. Funds also support research for treatments and a cure for muscular dystrophy. For information or to volunteer for this event, call 770-414-1982. |
