Ned Edgar Walker Ned Edgar Walker, 76, Fayetteville, died Oct. 10, 1998. He was born Oct. 29, 1921 in Fayette County, the son of Arthur and Emma Adams Walker. Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Walker, Fayetteville; a son, Kenny Walker, Fayetteville, a daughter, Kim and Rob Allen, Fayetteville, a granddaughter, Rebecca Crispin, Fayetteville; a sister, Martha Walker, Fayetteville, and brothers Hugh and Gayle Walker, Alpharetta and Harold Walker, Atlanta. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge of the arrangements.
Lorell Porter Lorell Porter, 61, Fayetteville, died Sept. 28, 1998. He was born Jan. 22, 1937 in Fayette County, the son of the late Brazel and Vera Jones Porter. He was a lifelong member of the Edgefield Baptist Church and a graduate of the Fayette County Public School System, serving as valedictorian of his 1955 graduating class. He had worked in the family construction business and later retired from the Warren Refrigeration Company. Services were held at the Edgefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Thomas officiating. Interment was at Fayetteville City Cemetery. Survivors include the mother of his children, Nellie Arnold Porter Knight , sons, André Porter, Doraville, Antonio Porter, College Park and Derrick and Sharon Porter, Germany; grandchildren Chelsi and Varay Porter, Germany; a brother, Richard Porter, Fayetteville, sisters, Henrietta Porter, Fayetteville, Annette Borders, Atlanta and Jannette and Jessie Acree, Atlanta; brothers-in-law, Arthur Arnold, College Park, Larry Arnold, Atlanta, William Arnold, East Point, and Bruce Arnold, Peachtree City: sisters-in-law, Sarah Nell Porter, Fayetteville, Doris Porter, N.C., Mary Hillman, College Park and Valerie Powell, College Park; an uncle, George and Naomi Jones, Fayetteville and an aunt, Mary and Calvin Vismale, Ga.; and his mother-in-law, Rheumania Miles Arnold. Addie Cofield Addie Cofield, 86, Fayetteville, died Sept. 18, 1998. She was born Oct. 26, 1911 in Fayette County, the daughter of Sam and Ada Cofield. She was a lifelong member of the Edgefield Baptist Church and had been employed for a number of years by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Nations and Drs. Ferrol and Helen Sams. Services were held at the Edgefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Thomas officiating. Interment was at Fayetteville City Cemetery. H. Col. Julian S. Wild Col. Julian S. Wild, U.S. Army Ret., 67, Riverdale, died Oct. 3, 1998. He was born Nov. 14, 1930 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tenn. He was retired from the Army with 35 years of service and had specialized in Communications and Program Management. Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with Military Chaplain McLean officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Janet L. Wild, Riverdale; daughters, Lisa Cantrell, Locust Grove and Deborah Jones, Riverdale; and sisters, Charlene Korhn, Fairfax, Va. and Gerrie Clapp, Murfreesboro, Tenn. There are six grandchildren. Mary "Sue" Meier Mary "Sue" Meier, 52, Griffin, died Oct. 6, 1998. She was born March 4, 1946 in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Ft. Wayne. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Griffin. Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with Father James McGonagle officiating. Interment was at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta. Survivors include her husband, Fred Meier, Griffin; children, Daine and Susan Evans, and Brooke Evans, all of New Haven, Ind., Monica Meier, Dayton, Ohio and Matthew and Kathy Meier, Langley, Va.
