Tyrone Council to consider charging fees on developers

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

The Town of Tyrone takes a look at the future tomorrow night.

One of the big items on the town council's agenda is a public hearing on a proposed capital improvement program. Items included in the program include a new public safety and administrative complex, a new library and recreation facilities including tennis courts, bike paths and a soccer field.

In order to pay for the new facilities, the town would use existing tax dollars and proposed impact fees from new development in the town.

Other items on the agenda include:

· A discussion of the city's budget.

· A discussion on sewer facilities for the town's future. Last month, Town manager Barry Amos presented the council with a comprehensive report outlining the town's options in obtaining sewer service for the town's high growth areas and central downtown. During the Oct.1 town council meeting, the council went into executive session to discuss a possible sewer deal, but did not reach any decision.

The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
