School Briefs

The Starr's Mill High School PTSO is hosting a meeting and workday to beautify the school's grounds. Parents, students and community members are invited to help with landscaping plans and tree and shrub planting Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. 770-486-2710.

The Starr's Mill High School PTSO will host a community forum and an opportunity to meet the candidates for the Fayette County Board of Education. The forum will be Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the school. 770-486-2710.

The Fayette County High School Choral Department will present their 1998 Fall Concert on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be in the FCHS cafeteria due to the ongoing renovations at Sams Auditorium. The performance will include "America the Beautiful," "Ma Nava," and "Ride the Chariot" an arrangement of a traditional spiritual. The FCHS Select Chorus will also be performing "Ave Maria," "Ain-a That Good News," "Ascendit Deus," "Down by the Riverside," and more. 770-460-3540.

The Starr's Mill High School Performing Art Series for the 1998-99 will kick off the season Oct. 20 with the Fall Choral Concert. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in SCHS's Willie Duke Auditorium. Admission is free. 770-486-2710.
