Fayette Tigers roll over Stockbridge

Team: Fayette County Tigers

Coach: Clint Burton

Record: 4-1

Last Week: beat Stockbridge 30-14

Key Players: DE Jeff Barnes had seven tackles, three sacks and caused and recovered a fumble.LB Wayne Hall had three assists and scored off of a fumble recovery. DL Chester Green had four tackles and caused a fumble.

Notes: The defense was dominating for the Tigers, as they scored early and cruised for the rest of the game. Wes Clark reinjured his ankle, after gaining 61 yards off of 10 carries, and is day to day for this week's game against Lovejoy. QB Gerald Johnson was 7 of 13, passing for 126 yards.Lovejoy matches up well with the Tigers, with a big line and a pass happy offense.

This week: at Lovejoy

Chiefs feel wrath of Wildcats

Team: McIntosh Chiefs

Coach: Clint Ashmore

Record: 1-4

Last Week: lost to Lovejoy 18-6

Key Players: Tony Franks and Nate Wesley led the Chiefs in tackles and Jarrod Currin had close to a 60 yard interception return.

Notes: The defense for the Chiefs has been good enough to win the past few weeks but it is the offense that has made the team suffer. By not being able to score, the Chiefs are never in a position to win. The Chiefs must avoid making mistakes. They can not afford penalties, drops or sacks. Next week the Chiefs face an undefeated East Coweta team. Coach Ashmore feels that pressure will be taken off the defense if the offense can be established.

This week: at East Coweta

East Coweta thrashes Griffin's Bears

Team: East Coweta

Coach: Danny Cronic

Record: 5-0

Last week: beat Griffin 33-16

Key players:David Sepanski caught a Clements touchdown pass as did Henry Kendall. Clements passed for 215 yards and ran for 96 yards as Marvin Smith was virtually stopped by the Bears. Smith still ran for two touchdowns in the win.

Notes: Ashley Martin missed her first two extra points of the season, she is now 19 for 21. It would be highly unlikely for the Indians to lose this week against McIntosh but they must be ready for a defense that comes to play and has no trouble stopping the run.

This Week: vs McIntosh

Sandy Creek loses close one to Panthers

Team Sandy Creek Patriots

Coach: Don Tyre

Record:2-2

Last week: lost to Forest Park 19-18

Key Players: Gavin Bourgeois had 10 tackles, Austin Vann had eight tackles and three sacks, QB Chris Sizemore was 11 of 19 for 142 yards passsing, Jermaine Harris had three receptions, including a 28 yard touchdown catch. Harris also

had nine tackles on defense.

Notes: The loss was a bitter pill to swallow for the Patriots. They led with 41 seconds to go in the game and would've won had they been able to get a first down on their final drive of the game. Instead, Forest Park got the ball in good field position and plugged away for the winning touchdown. Coach Tyre was incredibly happy with his team's performance but they were all stung by the loss. The schedule does not get any easier for the Patriots but they have shown they can play with anybody in the region.

This week:vs Mt. Zion

Panthers get pecked by Cardinals

Team: Starr's Mill Panthers

Coach: Mike Earwood

Record: 2-3

Last week: lost to Jonesboro 35-28

Key Players: RB Craig Maddock and QB Brad McClaren fueled the offense as usual for the Panthers while Matt Deffenbaugh, Clint Barbour and Reuben Houston put in great performances as well.

Notes: The game was pretty much a shootout between the two teams and despite the loss the Panthers should be pleased. Jonesboro is one of those teams that nobody thought Starr's Mill could handle and the Panthers proved them wrong. The talents of the team were clear once again and they now get a well deserved week off to heal and prepare for a big and talented Mt. Zion team.

This week: Bye

Landmark gets a week to heal

Team: Landmark Christian War Eagles

Coach: Bill Thorn

Record:2-2

Last week: Bye

Key Players:

Notes: Coach Thorn and the War Eagles have had a week to heal their wounds. QB C.R.Palmer should be fully recovered from the minor concussion he sustained at Callaway on Sept.26. Northgate is still winless but Thorn is fully preparing his team as he believes "They'll get somebody."

This week: vs Northgate

Vikings still searching for a victory

Team: Northgate Vikings

Coach: Ron Beaucham

Record: 0-4

Last week: lost to Callaway 25-13

Key Players: RB Marlon Cruver, DL Ryan Gentry, DL Kyle Stevens

Notes: The freshman Gentry continues to get more playing time and develop his skills on both sides of the line. Gentry is nearing 300 pounds as a freshman and looks to be one of the top players for the Vikings in years to come. Northgate is improving week to week but needs to eliminate mistakes on both sides of the ball and nnot get down over their losses. Landmark will be a tough game for Northgate, especially if the War Eagle's week off healed their minor injuries.

This week: at Landmark
