The Lady Chiefs softball team went 2-1 last week as they prepared to go into the regional tournament, which was slated to start at McCurry park on Monday. McIntosh defeated Stockbridge last Tuesday 11-8. They had an 11-0 lead before giving up eight runs in the final three innings. Brooke King pitched the first three innings, giving up one hit and striking out five batters, while Amie Lawrence pitched four innings and gave up four hits and four walks. Abby Stone had three hits and three RBIs while catcher Sabrina McCord hit the Chief's first over the fence homreun this season.

On Wednesday, McIntosh faced last year's regional champion Lovejoy at Meade Field. The Lady Chiefs had 12 hits and 10 runs in the victory. The offense was again led by Sabrina McCord who had two hits and two RBIs. Abby King had two hits, including a triple, producing three RBIs. Brooke King gave up three hits while striking out three batters in four innings.

Three games in three days proved to be too much for the Chiefs though as they traveled to face Lovejoy on Thursday. The Lady Chiefs produced three runs in the top of the first inning on well placed singles from Britte Hardy, Abby Stone and Jennifer Ward. Lovejoy answered with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first. Candace Moore singled in the second to drive in Abby King but no more runs were produced by McIntosh that day. The Lady Chiefs lost 7-4.

On Monday, the Lady Chiefs opened the Region 4-AAAA tournament at McCurry Park against LaGrange. Their 10-0 win sent a message to the rest of the field on account of how dominating they appeared to be. Brooke King pitched a no-hitter while striking out eight and the Lady Chiefs produced nine hits, five of which were doubles.

Candace Moore, Emily Langbehn, Abby Stone and Megan Mulcahy each produced an RBI while King nabbed two RBIs with a double in the fifth inning. The Lady Chiefs were to face the winner of the East Coweta/Stockbridge game, but it was rescheduled due to weather.
