The Georgia Association of Public Accountants invites all public accountants to an open house Oct. 2 hosted by the Southern Regional chapter.

The open house starts at noon at Shoney's in Fayetteville and ends at 1 p.m. Prior to the meeting, lunch will be served at 11:30 p.m.

"We'd love to invite all public accountants, both certified and non certified," said the group's public relations chairman Debbie Lapp. "Ours is a very active chapter and works diligently to work through issues facing all accountants in today's business climate."

Genie Compton has been named branch manager of Griffin Financial Services office in McDonough.

Compton has been with the company for eight years and has a 20 year career in mortgage banking.

The company has its operations and underwriting departments and a mortgage loan office in Fayetteville. The company also has new branch offices planned for Griffin and Peachtree City.
