Three of Fayette County's high schools are ranked in the top 30 high schools in the state, based on their recent test scores, according to a new report from the Georgia Public Policy Foundation.

McIntosh High School and Kedron Elementary have been ranked in the top ten secondary and elementary schools in Georgia , according to the group's report.

The nonpartisan research and education organization released its findings Monday. They based their elementary and middle school rankings on the results of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills administered last spring to fifth and eighth graders.

The high school ratings relied on juniors' achievement on the English and math portions of the state graduation exam.
