The metro area's eighth Disney Store location opened to good crowds last weekend at Southlake Mall in Morrow.

The 4,300-square-foot store employs about 25-30 "cast members," as all Disney companies refer to their employees. The store features a variety of proprietary Disney character merchandise in a fun setting that includes 3-D characters and a "video wall" playing Disney songs.

Shoppers at the new store also may purchase Disney theme park tickets, as well as "Disney Dollars" and gift certificates.

Since the first Disney store opened in Glendale, Calif, in 1987, the chain has grown to 660 locations in 11 countries.
