Kenneth Kramlich, a science teacher at Madras Middle School, has been awarded the TBS Superstation SuperTeacher Award for the 1997-98 school year. Kramlich will represent the Coweta County School District at the SuperTeacher Awards Ceremony Sept. 24. Coweta's winning teacher is a science teacher for gifted students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. He uses humor and illustration to help reduce "science anxiety" among his students, allowing them to learn difficult concepts more easily. Kramlich has been instrumental in the evolution of the Gifted Education Program, REACH and serves on the school's Building Leadership Team, which advises the administration on solutions to issues involving the school. Additionally, he has created a newsletter, "Under the Microscope," to promote student recognition and parent communication.
