Air Force ROTC Cadet William E. Parrott, formerly of Fayetteville, has received the Air Force Association Outstanding Cadet of the Year Award. Parrott, a 1994 graduate of Fayette County High School, is in the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Georgia, where he is a senior mathematics major.

In March, Parrott received the American Legion Award for Military Excellence, and this summer was selected to attend a three-week observation trip to Mildenhall Air Base in England. He is presently serving as wing commander of the UGA detachment. Following graduation and receiving his commission in May 1999, Parrott will enter flight training.

Parrot is the son of Everett and Sheila Parrott of Alvaton, Ga., formerly of Fayetteville.
