Fayette Ballet open in new location
The staff of Fayette Ballet has announced its relocation to
a new facility at 102 North Georgia Highway 85.
Registration for fall classes is under way at the new
studio. Classes are offered in jazz, tap, pre-ballet, classical
ballet technique, pointe, creative dance and ballroom for
children age 3 through adult. "Emphasis will be placed on building
self esteem, developing the child to his greatest potential,
and instilling a love for the dance," said Beverly
Williamson, director of the Fayette Ballet.
The new site, which features a 2,000 square foot,
air-conditioned dance area with barres, mirrors and
sprung flooring, serves as the official home of the Fayette
Ballet Performing Company and Fayette County's annual
Nutcracker production.
"The expansion move will give the much needed space
for company classes and Nutcracker rehearsals, as well as
offer the opportunity for growth by building a broader base
of community support," Williamson said.
The new location will also enable the ballet to expand
its arts-in-depth dance enrichment program, Project
FOCUS, which provides full, one-year dance scholarships to
disadvantaged children in Fayette County.
Fayette Ballet is a Georgia non-profit cultural and
educational organization, dedicated to enriching the cultural life
of the community by presenting performances, lectures,
demonstrations and seminars related to the dance and other
associated arts, according to Williamson.
