New officers set at hospital
Fayette Community Hospital recently announced the election of its first three medical staff officers.
William Cook, M.D., is the first president of
the medical staff. Cook is a graduate of the
University of Michigan School of Medicine and completed
his residency at the University of Chicago
Hospitals and Clinics.
He served as the chief of obstetrics at
Piedmont Hospital from 1996-1998 and recently
completed his term as president of the Atlanta Obstetrical
and Gynecological Society. As president of Fayette Community Hospital's staff, Cook will be
accountable to the hospital's board, representing the
medical staff for the quality and effectiveness of
its clinical services.
Serving as president-elect is Frank Cole, M.D. Cole graduated from the Emory University
School of Medicine and currently serves as chief of
the Department of Internal Medicine at Fayette
Medical Clinic. Cole the handle the duties of president
whenever Cook is unavailable.
Sara Goza, M.D. will serve as the staff's secretary/treasurer. Goza is a graduate of the
Medical College of Georgia. She did her residency
at Children's Hospital Medical Center in
Cincinnati, Ohio and currently works with Fayette
Medical Clinic. Goza will inform the staff of meetings,
keep the minutes and oversee the financial activities
of the medical staff.
Terms for the new officers began July 1 and
each officer will serve for two years.
"I know that these officers will serve the
medical staff well," said Fayette Community Hospital
CEO Darrell Cutts. "They will be a vital link between
the medical staff and the hospital board, and
together these two groups will ensure that our hospital
continues to provide high quality health care to
this community."
