Tiger Woods is coming to town on Sunday, Sept. 13 to put on a clinic. Not like the clinic he put on when he won the Masters, but a golf clinic ,with his father, Earl, at Brown's Mill Golf Course. The clinic is on behalf of the Tiger Woods Foundation and American Golf, for 3,000 kids in Atlanta area community groups. The exhibition is part of a five city tour of inner city golf clinics.

During the clinic and exhibition, Tiger will attempt a million dollar hole in one. If he is successful in one try, he will donate the purse to local junior golf programs benefitting inner city youths. American Golf is working with the Tiger Woods foundation to help make golf a more accessible and affordable game for children who would not have the opportunity to learn or play the game otherwise.

American Golf will provide a certificate to all participants that allows them to play on any of the courses that they operate in the Atlanta area for one dollar, during off peak hours. Participants will also be offered free range balls one day a week at Brown's Mill Golf Course.

American Golf, which started an inner city youth golf program in 1985, certainly benefits from the cooperation of the Tiger Woods Foundation. Both promote excellent values such as parental involvement in children's lives, integrity, discipline and commitment.

In addition, Woods is perhaps the most appealing golfer to all demographics presently. He has certainly garnered the attention of America's youth. By simply lending his name and making an appearance, Woods proves that he is a champion. It is rare to see a young athlete so willing to take on the role of role model and to give up some of his off season time to encourage children to follow in his footsteps.

Unfortunately, the clinic is not open to the public but if you are interested in the inner city youth golf program or the Tiger Woods Foundation, call 404-877-1827.
