A member of the Clayton College & State University music faculty and a former faculty member have been chosen for special awards by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Lynn Badarak, who is teaching composition and theory this semester, and Daniel Worley, a former bassoonist instructor, were presented cash awards by the ASCAP and their continuing commitment to assist and encourage writers of serious music.

The awards, granted by an independent panel, are based on the unique prestige value of each writer's catalog of original compositions as well as recent performances of those works in areas not surveyed by the Society.
