Chiefs volleyball is on a roll
By MICHAEL BOYLAN Staff Writer
The McIntosh Lady Chief volleyball team is starting the
short season well. They have cruised to a 5-0 record in their area,
defeating Lagrange and Tri-Cities earlier this week. In their
game against Tri-Cities, the serving was dominant. The Lady Chiefs
only needed four servers in their first game to reach the necessary
15 points, for a 15-5 win. They shut out Tri-Cities in the second
game of the match,15-0. Sarah Hall had eight points in her first start at
the varsity level.
It was no different against LaGrange. The Lady
Grangers appeared to have trouble returning serves, as McIntosh won
the first game 15 -1. Joye Ross served the last nine points for the
Lady Chiefs as they took the second game 15-6.
As this edition goes to press, McIntosh is playing Marist
and Landmark Christian at Marist. This game may be one of
the toughest the Lady Chiefs play. Landmark has rolled to an
impressive record (11-2) and is looking to continue to
prove themselves. Currently, the Landmark Lady War Eagles are
ranked fifth in the state. McIntosh will face Sandy Creek and
Northgate at Sandy Creek next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and will also be
playing in the Cobb Invitational starting next Thursday.
