Beverly Mobley of Century 21 Southern Crescent, the current president of the Fayette County Board of Realtors, was recently named the Realtor of the Year by the by the Georgia Association of Realtors.

"I'm thrilled and honored," Mobley said.

Mobley along with two other local Realtors, were judged based on their achievements and contributions in real estate and in the community from June 1, 1997 to May 31, 1998. However, all previous accomplishments were considered as well.

All nominees were required to be on the local board of Realtors or a former Realtor of the Year.

Mobley has been in real estate for the last 35 years. She has completed the ABR, CRS, and GRI designations, which are considered honors. Furthermore, while continuing her education, she has worked with the Board to initiate a C.E., post-license and new agent mentoring education program that is available to all agents in the county at no cost.

According to the judges evaluation of Mobley, as a board president, "one is required to set aside professional goals in favor of devoting a year to the betterment of the profession and board," which they said results in lost income and time.

"Without this exceptional commitment," the judges said, "new goals would not be reached to the betterment of the real estate organization as a whole."

Mobley has also obtained many awards and achievements over the years. She has been an associate broker since 1980, a member of the Fayette County Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club, winner of Century 21's Quality Service Award, agent of the month, and has served as president-elect, president, local director and G.A.R. state director.

She has also been awarded the Century 21 Emerald Award, Master's Award, Golden Eagle Award, and Century 21 Southern Crescent Spirit Award.

Mobley will go on to the state convention in October in Nashville, Tenn., where she will be eligible to win Realtor of the Year in the state.
