Mini Grand Prix set to hit the streets
On Saturday, Sept. 13, the streets surrounding
Woodruff Park in Atlanta will be filled with mini Indy style cars for the
Arthritis Foundation's sixth annual Mini Grand Prix. The race
begins at 12:00 p.m and admission is free. The mini cars have
five horsepower engines and capture the realism of a Grand Prix
race on a smaller scale.
The teams are organized from local and national companies
and compete in events such as, best designed car, fastest tire
change and best pit uniforms, prior to the race. Last year, Neiman
Marcus was the Mini Grand Prix champion, while 96 Rock, The
Ritz Carlton and National Linen Service walked away with
various trophies.
This year's presenting sponsor is Sportslife. Sportslife
has worked with local charities for 16 years and is excited to be
involved with the Arthritis Foundation.
"This is a great opportunity to boost employee morale and
involve our entire organization in a fun family day," says
George Iacovacci, executive director of marketing for Sportslife. "It
is also a great opportunity to support the fund raising efforts of
the Arthritis Foundation."
Friends and family are encouraged to come out and watch
the event as spectators. For more information call the Arthritis
Foundation Georgia chapter at 404-237-8771.
