PTC thrift shop performs great service

Letters from Our Readers

I wonder how many citizens are aware of the non-profit thrift shop we have here in Peachtree City.

The other day I was about to call some agency to pick up clothing and various articles when a friend of mine suggested taking my belongings to the thrift shop. I was delighted. While there I spoke with Chris Baron and discovered the thrift shop opened January 1997 and is completely staffed by volunteers.

The money stays in Fayette County and is given to charitable organizations through quarterly grants after the bills are paid. They also give scholarships to high school seniors involved in volunteer activities. I was in the other day and saw a mural painted by a group of students who donated it to the thrift shop.

They accept gently worn clothing and resaleable household items and like all charitable organizations, they need volunteers. You won't be sorry if you support the "Clothes Less Traveled" shop, 216 Fulton Court, which is off Huddleston Road near the Fayette Rental Service.
