Special Olympics
The Fayette County Special Olympics Committee will
begin its 1998-99 season Friday with an open invitation to special
olympic athletes to start aquatic training at the Kedron Center in
Peachtree City. Practices will be held every Friday from 5 p.m. until
7 p.m.until October.
The Special Olympics are designed for special needs children
age eight and up. The sports program teams the athlete with
a mentor/trainer to learn and participate in sports like
swimming, basketball, bowling, bocce, track and field.
The committee is seeking youth and adult volunteers to
train in some of the new sports offered.
