Letters from Our Readers
This is in response to stay-at-home mom, Niki Smith.
I want to praise you and your husband for choosing your
children first. I feel that when you choose to have children you should be
willing to put them first and not "things."
I'm not going to tell you it was always easy, especially
when everything decides to break at one time. But you will find a way.
I was a nurse and loved my job but when our first son was born
my husband and I did not want to choose between going to work or
being with him when he was sick. Also, if you work your child will be
away from you approximately nine hours a day. I worked as you,
keeping children, cleaning houses (I took him with me) and anything I could
do from home.
Don't even bother with people who think you have free time
since you stay home. You don't owe them anything.
God bless you and your family. You and your husband have
chosen the most important and rewarding path in life - bringing up
your children yourselves.
