Please consider this to be the official announcement of my candidacy for Tyrone Town Council Post Two in the upcoming election.

My name is Paul A. Letourneau. I am a 14-year resident of Tyrone. I have been married to Jan Letourneau for 20 years. We have two children, a daughter Jacqueline, age 15, a sophomore at Sandy Creek High School, and a son B.J., age 12, a seventh grader at Flat Rock Middle School. I have been active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church since 1988.

Education:

Bachelor of Science - Criminal Justice/Political Science, Florida International University - 1976

Associate of Applied Science - Paramedic Technology

Professional:

22 years Delta Air Lines - background in Airport Customer Service and Material Services

Currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Technical Operations Executive Council. This is an employee advocacy group - representing approximately 10,000 employees within Delta's Technical Operations Division

Lab instructor for Emergency Medical Service program at Clayton College and State University

Community Service:

Tyrone Planning Commissioner since December 1996

Reserve Firefighter/Paramedic - Fayette County Emergency Services - since 1990

Past Vice Chairman - Tyrone Youth Baseball Association

Past board member - Tyrone Youth Baseball Association

Manager and Coach - Tyrone Youth Baseball Association

Campaign Platform:

1. Re-establish Tyrone town government as a functional, performing body, responsive to the needs of its citizens.

2. Protect the interests of Tyrone in the development of Ga. Highway 74 corridor.

3. Maintain the small-town atmosphere of Tyrone while promoting appropriate development of the town.

4. Maintain the outstanding level of public safety within Tyrone and do all possible to ensure this level in the future.

5. To serve the citizens of Tyrone in an open honest government, voting only in the interest of its citizens.
