Travel company breaks ground on new facility

Under cloudy skies, city dignitaries and business leaders broke ground Friday on Peachtree City's newest office building.

The 42,000 sq.ft. building will be a Class A office building on a three acre site in the Westpark Business Park. The $3.5 million building should be completed by next February and feature several tenants.

The anchor tenant at the facility will be World Travel Partners and the corporate travel business will occupy the entire 20,000 sq.ft. second floor.

The building is a two-story structure and is being developed by Jatt developers of Alpharetta. Jones and Pierce Architects drew the plans for the facility, which will blend with the other buildings in the office park.

World Travel Partners President John Snyder said the new building will solve a space problem for his current employees in Peachtree City.

"We've already got 80 employees at an older building. When we open the new facility, we expect to have between 100-125 employees," he said.

The office will offer 24-hour travel planning service and international routes for the company's business clients, he said.
