Do you think it will ever happen?

By KNOX HERNDON
Religion Columnist

Could it actually happen that people
who profess love over hate, for
giveness over revenge, and yes even Christianity, all get together for some great spiritual event? Well if that hasn't shocked you enough, hold on to your differences because it's going to happen!

Do you remotely believe that the "tearing down of walls" professed by the very popular "Promise Keepers" movement in America is actually becoming a reality? Could it actually be that we have sat Sunday after Sunday, week after week, year after year, generation after generation, millennium after millennium, and heard sermon after sermon, on the topic of "love one another" and even read from the Scriptures from the very lips of Jesus, the second (commandment) is like unto the first, "love your neighbor as yourself." Well hold on to your differences, it's going to happen!

On Sunday evening, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Starr's Mill High School Auditorium a Unity Service will be held with 22 local churches participating. You will be able to get a free ticket from your participating pastor. The worship leader is Ron Kenoly who has a worldwide ministry in prayer and praise worship. I would recommend you coming early to secure good seating for you and your family.

I have talked to many people and asked what do you think heaven is like? It really is a very interesting subject.

We have biblical accounts of no tears, no sickness, no pain, new bodies, the presence of God Almighty, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, praise and worship, the throne room, choirs, and those who have followed Him. I think it will be like one big unity service of all those who love God and His son Jesus singing Ephesians 4:5, "one Lord, one faith, one baptism."

Come and experience a little bit of heaven on Sunday evening, Aug. 23!
