State Sen. Rick Price, R-Fayetteville, has been appointed to
the Senate Property Tax Study Committee by Lt. Gov. Pierre Howard.
Created by a resolution of the 1998 General Assembly, the
committee will examine such issues as tax structures, contrasting tax
bases available in different jurisdictions, and changes in laws and the
state constitution affecting property taxes.
Price says that property taxes are a "major concern of Georgia
citizens," and he is "honored" to serve on the committee.
Other members are Sen. Rene Kemp, D-Hinesville; Sen.
Rooney Brown, D-Cordele; Sen. Don Cheeks, D-Augusta, and Sen. Don
Thomas, R-Dalton.
