Lakly eyeing rematch?

Dan Lakly, who lost his bid for reelection to state House District 105 this week, is "disappointed, of course," but don't count him out.

"There is a strong possibility of a re-match" when the seat comes up for reelection again in the year 2000, Lakly said after congratulating winner Kathy Cox.

"She did a good job of getting the voters out," said Lakly.

"I am proud of the job I've done," said Lakly, who is serving his third term in the House, and he pointed out that he will still be in office until January. Though the legislature won't be in session, he is available for constituent service, he said.

Cox should be prepared to defend her record after her first term in office, said Lakly. "In two years, she'll have a voting record, and then we'll see," he said.
