Fayetteville Christian names its leader

Fayettville Christian Church's congregation has approved the elders' and board's recommendation to call Daniel Overdorf as the new senior minister. Information on when the new pastor begins and other details have not yet been determined.

Break out those old hymnals next week

As part of its continuing sesquicentennial celebration, Fayetteville First United Methodist Church is planning an old-fashioned hymn fest, at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 in the church sanctuary. Don Davis is preparing an evening of special music and a time to sing some of your favorite old hymns and fellowship with other believers. The church is at 175 E. Lanier Ave. and can be reached at 770-461-4313.

Moms meet to pray for their children's schools

Moms wanting to make a difference in their children's schools will have a chance to become a part of Moms In Touch International, a nondenominational group of moms who meet once a week for an hour to intercede in prayer on behalf of their children and the schools they attend. An informational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 at Braelinn Baptist Church, 777 Robinson Rd. in Peachtree City. For more information, call Jennifer Snelling at 770-487-2202.
