Two Christian bands performing at PTC amphitheater next week
Local band "linger" is opening for contemporary Christian
band "Third Day" Aug. 21 in an 8 p.m. outdoor concert at the
Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peach-tree City.
"linger" has played for numerous churches and religious
organizations in Fayette County. Band members Cregg Gibson, Joel
Walker, Ben Bishop and Matt Schwartz are from Henry and Clayton
counties. They have shared the bill with such notable Christian groups as
"According to John," "Seven Day Jesus" and "Big Tent Revival."
The name "linger" comes from Habbakuk 2:3: " For the
revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove
false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not
prove false." Gibson says the Scripture summarizes the band's goal to
reach as many people as they can through their music, because they know
that God is coming back and they need to do all they can.
Third Day is preparing for the release of its second album,
"Conspiracy No. 5." The Atlanta band also has had a top-30 rock radio
hit. Lead vocalist Mac Powell says the new songs encourage listeners
to "search and dig deeper into the lyrics of our songs ... we don't
want our faith to be a hidden thing."
Tickets for the concert are all general admission: $15
advance, $18 day of show, and $12.50 for groups of 10 or more (advance
purchase only). Call the amphitheater at 770-631-0630 for more
information.
