Peachtree Brokerage Group awarded

Peachtree Brokerage Group was recently honored with two Awards of Excellence by the American Economic Development Council. The awards were presented at a recent ceremony held during the organization's annual conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The winners were recognized for their efforts to attract business and industry through marketing and promotional materials.

The Peachtree Brokerage Group website (www.peachtree-citygeorgia.com) was given an Award of Excellence on the basis of overall appearance and usability. The web site was designed as both an information and sales tool. Easy-to-read sub-pages break down the site into accessible topics. The site has been highly successful, averaging approximately 5,000 hits each month.

The Fayette County Development Authority and the Development Authority of Peachtree City teamed up with the Peachtree Brokerage Group to win the Award of Excellence for their 1997 Christmas luncheon.

The theme of the luncheon, "Ye Merry Olde Holiday Celebration," was developed for the event. It was carried through on the invitations, the name tags, the menus and programs, the entertainment and the gifts. Invitees were thanked for their "valiant efforts" in bringing such companies as Siemens, Quantegy, Sigvaris and Lawson Mardon to Peachtree City in the past year. Nearly 100 economic development officials from Georgia were in attendance, including those from Georgia Power, Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Oglethorpe Power, and the Georgia Department of Labor.

"We are extremely pleased to have been recognized on a national level for our marketing efforts," says Tate Godfrey, Peachtree Brokerage Group's director of industrial sales. "Peachtree City is the best master-planned community in the United States, and we believe our marketing initiatives reflect this."

Both the web site and the Christmas luncheon were developed by McRae Communications.
