Sue Smith has joined the sales team at
Prudential Georgia Realty's office in Peachtree City.
"Sue has a lot of experience in the industry,"
said Lynda Dunn, managing broker. "Her experiences
combined with her drive to succeed will help her become a top agent."
Smith is a member of the Fayette Board of REALTORS and the
National Association of REALTORS. Smith also has experience in
mortgage banking.
"I will provide the highest professional services to my
customers," Smith said. "My success will stem from the respect and
consideration that I will show each client."
The second annual Fayette County Chamber of
Commerce Small Business Showcase is set for Aug. 18. The showcase is
free to Chamber members and $10 for all others.
Exhibitors who want to display information are welcome to bring
a small table and show brochures or products.

Georgia Power Company filed a three-year rate plan with
the PSC earlier in the summer which calls fro a 5.25 rate reduction
for 213,000 small business customers. Officials estimate the reduction
will amount to $50 million in annual savings for small business owners.
The company is scheduled to present its testimony
beginning Aug. 24 and continuing through the fall. A decision is expected
in early December.
Chick-fil-A announced recently that Fayetteville resident
Evi Vingerling has been selected to receive a $1,000 Leadership
Scholarship.
"As we continue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our
scholarship program, it gives us great satisfaction to know that we
have helped nearly 13,000 Chick-fil-A restaurant employees to
continue pursuing their education," said Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy.
Vingerling was nominated by her manager at the Fayetteville
store by her manager Doug Mickey. She plans to study drawing and
painting at the Royal Academy of Art in Den Haag, Holland this fall.
Kathy Boyd has been named director of conference planning
for the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City.
Boyd recently served as the senior meeting
service manager at the Wyndham Palm Springs Hotel and
Resort in Palm Springs, Ca. During her 10-year career at the resort, Boyd
worked her way to manager from banquet captain.
"We are thrilled that Kathy Boyd has accepted the director of
conference planning position," said Thomas Shaver, general manager
of Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center. "Her vast experience in
both food and beverage and conference planning make her the ideal
choice. I know that she will become a valued member of our team."
