New HBA head wants growth to continueAlready one of the top 100 Home Builders Associations in the nation and ranked number three in Georgia based on the number of members, the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia will continue to move up in size and prestige if its new President Jeff Waddle gets his way. Speaking to members of the HBA of Midwest Georgia gathered at the annual officer installation dinner, Waddell called for the organization to increase the number of members from 650 to over 700 in the year ahead. He also outlined plans for more educational programs for professional builders, closer involvement with the association's sales and marketing council and increased communications with government regulatory and administrative agencies related to the building industry. The event was themed as a Mexican fiesta and hosted by RCS in Fayetteville. Waddell, regional project manager for David Weekley Homes, lauded outgoing Association President Mike Krause and his administration, as well as HBA of Midwest Georgia Executive Officer Sandy Boda and staff members Jabra Satterfield and Cheryl Tingwald, for the work and accomplishments of the past year. He singled out, in particular, the increase in association membership during the year to 650 members and the awarding of over $15,000 in college scholarships - including the establishment of the new Jerry Ballard Scholarship - to high school and college students in the 10-county region served by the HBA of Midwest Georgia. Installed as officers for the 2005-2006 year, along with Waddell, were Mike Daughtry, vice president, Greg Lewis, associate vice president, Bill Daprano, treasurer, John Cox, secretary, and Mike Kruse, immediate past president. Directors for the year ahead are Gene Barber, Bob Barnard, Jeff Betsill, Patsy Dunagan, Chad Floyd, Dennis Floyd, Randy Hayes, Kenny Johnson, Gary Lawson, Eddie Lusher, Mac McKinney, Jerry Neese, Dan Petry, Richard Simms, Eric Smith, Liz Taylor, Jerry Tedder and Lang Thompson. Bobby Lunceford, vice president/secretary of the Home Builders Association of Georgia conducted the installation of officers and directors. The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia is a professional organization of home builders and others associated with the building industry. It serves members in 10 Midwest Georgia counties - Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Meriwether, Heard, Pike, Upson, Lamar, Butts and Jasper.
