Bad Links? | Smith running for Woolsey seatBy CAROLYN CARY Ron Smith, 36, has qualified for the Post 1 seat on the Woolsey City Council, which was vacated when Jerry Carpenter moved from the area. He has lived in Fayette County since the age of five, and is a 1987 graduate of Fayette County High School. He went on to the University of Georgia, majoring in economics, and then to Atlanta Law School. He is employed at an personal injury law office in Atlanta. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen, and they are the parents of Emma, 4, and Leah, 1. Karen teaches government at Starrs Mill High School. When asked why he qualified to be a councilman, he said people should be involved in their community. If we dont do anything, then nothing will get done. I want to help my community any way I can. Smith is opposed for the seat by Ken Wright. The election is Nov. 8. |
